Beautiful the Blood & Stage

Beautiful the Blood was a recent sermon series at Cornwall Church.  The artwork for this series was based upon an abstract look.  I didn’t want to make a bloody face, or something gruesome; but I wanted there to be a bit of blood worked into the piece.  So I used abstract layers of shapes and colors w/ a little blood splatter to spice things up.

From there I used the artwork to inspire the stage pieces.  I basically broke apart the art and traced those shapes onto large sheets of plywood.  Below are some photos from the final stage set up – I hope you enjoy!

solid rock

Recently I’ve been working a worship track for Solid Rock.  This is a timed video (played to a click) where your worship band can play along, OR you can use what we call flex files – in that case the words aren’t built into the background so it allows for some variation in tempo.  I had a ton of fun working on this thing and it’s really cool to see the whole thing put together.  Have your Church or youth group buy it HERE

props to Rhett Blankenship (motion), Steve Bertrand (audio), & Jon Wise (boss man) for putting this together.  Looking forward to doing more!

Do Something

Here is some artwork that I did for the Oasis Center in Nashville, TN.  The Oasis Center is a non-profit group; I have been working with the youth oriented program called YouthUnited.  These are the postcards they are printing for thier intern/volunteer recruitment.  I used hand drawn elements such as the bird & clouds along with some 3d text made in C4D.  Even if you’re not in Nashville you should get out and volunteer, even if its just for a bit!   Enjoy!

CD

As most of you know I recorded a full length album. This weekend I spent time duplicating and packaging them.

My CD’s were all packaged in a brown paper bag.  I used a piece of yarn and some hot glue to hold the bag together.  Then the insert is thrown in between the folds.

And of course the CD’s will be shipped in eco-friendly mailers!

Flannel

flannel logo

This is the logo I created for Flannel, which is by buddy rhett’s production company.  They’re building their branding right now so I figured I’d try to help a little.

I hand-drew the font, colored it & scanned it.  The mustach was made in illustrator.

Really though what’s better than some flannel and handlebar mustaches?

As soon as their site is up I’ll shoot a link on here.
